Express Scripts Technology & Innovation Center is a fast-track, 230,000 SF office/production facility the NorthPark team designed, developed, and constructed in St. Louis. The facility houses a selection of ESI's back of house pharmacy functions and fills approximately 100,000 prescriptions per day using proprietary equipment developed by ESI. The facility contains 6,000 SF of freezer/cooler space, secured specialty drug areas, and 51,000 SF of mezzanine space for mail rooms and production offices. The facility also contains a unique, 1/4 mile elevated tour path, where customers tour the facility walking above and through the production equipment. The tour path features glass handrails, epoxy floors, and video screens that describe each operation as the client walks by it. NorthPark Partners was awarded this fast track project on August 14th, 2009 and immediately set out designing the facility as we began grading the site. By October 7th, the roof of the 200,000 SF production area was complete, and by November 12th, the epoxy floor and suspended ceilings of the production area were in place and ESI's pharmaceutical equipment began moving in. The production area received its certificate of occupancy on January 7th, less than 82 days after project award.
